The "60 Round Boys"
This being a monthly history of the 55th Ohio Volunteer Infantry
For November 2001 by Bill Johnson

The 55th Ohio, with the rest of McClean's Brigade, was ordered from Centreville to Gainesville Virginia on the 2nd of November, 1862. The order
was quickly amended, however, and they were sent to Hopewell instead. On the 9th of November, George B. McClellan was relieved of command of the Army of the Potomac. He was succeeded by Major-General Ambrose Burnside.

On the 20th of November, the 55th Ohio broke camp at Hopewell and marched to Chantilly, Virginia, passing through Groveton and Centreville. Not much else to report.
