The "60 Round Boys"
This being a monthly history of the 55th Ohio Volunteer Infantry
For October 2001 by Bill Johnson

Not much was happening with the 55th Ohio during the month of October, 1862. They spent the month encamped within the area of Centreville, Virginia. On October 2nd, Major Daniel DeWolf resigned his commission (reasons unknown). Captain Charles Gambee of Company A was promoted to fill the position. During this time period, Private William Keesy, of Company I, was sent to the hospital at Fairfax Courthouse with severe medical problems.
