An American Civil War Living History Group Company F, 55th Ohio Veteran Volunteer Infantry was formed in September, 1986 at Fort Tejon State Historic Park (about 70 miles north of Los Angeles) as part of the Fort Tejon Historical Association's Civil War Program. Our Company is dedicated to the accurate portrayal of the typical Union soldier from the state of Ohio during the War of the Rebellion. Authenticity and living-history are our primary goals while "re-enacting" is secondary. Company F members strive for high authenticity in drill, campaigning, camp life, and social customs of the time period. Our group participates in living-history events and educational discussions. About once a year we will attend an eastern event with thousands of participants (under the command authority of the Army of the Pacific battalion). Company F members have participated in the production of various film and television productions such as North and South, Dream West, Glory, Gettysburg, Ghost Brigade, Quantum Leap, Wild Wild West, and America's Sweethearts. |
