Fort Tejon
May 19-20, 2007
Chattanooga, September 1863 . . . Confederate and Union forces have been sparring unsuccessfully in an effort to supply their exhausted and hungry men around Chattanooga. Local guides and reconnaissance patrols suggest a small canyon lies unconsidered and undefended by either side . . . This narrow passage may hold the key to the entire region, and the army that takes it will be able to run just enough supplies through to make an attack . . .
Unbeknownst to either commander, both sides gain this intelligence almost simultaneously and move to seize the objective. Thinly stretched, both sides can spare but a single footsore brigade to hold the objective but guides suggest that will be enough . . . Now in a dry, windswept canyon, a potentially decisive skirmish for the key to Chattanooga is about to be joined.
